Software development projects require a lot of "paperwork" in the form of requirements documents, design documents, test plans, schedules, checklists, release notes, etc. ReadySET is an open source project to produce and maintain a library of reusable software engineering document templates.
Manuals in Extreme Programming
Here's a bit of a rant I wrote some time back, talking about how to write the manuals for an XP project by using writers as part of the team. It's a serious proposal, written with tongue a bit in cheek. (link)First impressions of ReSharper (JetBrains' C# refactoring tool)
Overall, ReSharper needs to be substantially better than Whidbey's refactoring tools in order to convince people to pay extra for it. I liked what I see so far. But it still has a long way to go.
